Hey everyone! It’s time for another review on a Yu-Gi-Oh Booster Set, this time we’ll be taking a look at Breakers of Shadow which officially released on January 15th, making it the first Booster Set of 2016! First of all, I would like to thank Konami for providing me with a few Breakers of Shadow Booster packs for review purposes.

Let’s start off with what Breakers of Shadow has to offer. The Breakers of Shadow Booster Set consists of 48 Common cards, 20 Rare cards, 14 Super Rare cards, 10 Ultra Rare cards and 8 Secret Rare cards to round out the set. Each Breakers of Shadow Booster Pack which retails for $3.99 includes 9 cards and you’re guaranteed at least one foil!

The cards offered within the Breakers of Shadow Booster set are good! It has something for pretty much everyone, it also includes new cards for duelists using the most recent deck themes like Performapal, Magicians, Melodious, Goyo, Majespecter and Odd-Eyes. Also, included within the set are the new Shiranui cards which are great for a Zombie themed deck.

The cards that stood out the most to me in the Breakers of Shadow Booster set were Performapal Monkeyboard, Neptabyss The Atlantean Prince, Solemn Strike and Cyber Dragon Infinity. Performapal Monkeyboard is a must have for any Duelist who wants to construct a Performapal deck since it allows you to search for another Performapal card and allows you to add it to your hand, it’s similar to Skullcrobat Joker, so I recommend having both cards in your deck if you op for a Performapal Deck.

Solemn Strike needs no introduction, this card goes well with pretty much any deck you could think of, it’s a great card for getting you out of trouble, and the amount of life points you have to sacrifice in order to activate it, is much lower when compared to other Solemn cards, so I highly recommend you add this one to your deck.

Now onto the cards I was able to pull from the Booster Packs that were sent to me from Konami- (Secret Rare) Kozmojo, (Ultra Rare) Quaking Mirror Force, (Super Rare) Buster Whelp of the Destruction, (Rare) Arisen Gaia the Fierce Knight, (Rare) Odd-Eyes Advent, and finally a Rare Reject Reborn. I’m happy with the cards I was able to pull out of the three Breakers of Shadow Booster packs I opened, I think I got pretty lucky since I pulled Kozmojo which goes for around $22 and Quaking Mirror Force is around $15, and they’re great cards! I’ll also leave pictures below on every single card I got from Breakers of Shadow.

My overall opinion on the Breakers of Shadow Booster set is positive! The overall set for Breakers of Shadow is fantastic, it adds more great cards to the already huge amount of Yu-Gi-Oh cards out there further augmenting existing deck themes. I’m sure duelists will enjoy trying to collect every card included within this set, maybe you’ll even get lucky and pull the elusive Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer! My final score for Breakers of Shadow is a 9.2/10
